Q: When are academies open for enrollment?
A: Enrollment dates are posted on the Events Page of the website. Please log in to your account, select "Events" and then find the academy of your choice to see the specific enrollment period.

Q: Who can attend?
A: Academies are designed for K-3 classroom teachers and K-12 special education teachers, as well as specialists who teach K-3 students (such as reading specialists, Title 1 teachers, speech language therapists, and librarians if their role is instructional with K-3 students).

Q: How do I enroll?
A: Teachers who wish to enroll for a Teacher Reading Academy must first register on the Reading First in Virginia website. At that time, they are eligible to enroll in events as they are open for enrollment for them. RF events are free for teachers in Virginia.

Q: How many academies can a teacher attend?
A: Teachers are encouraged to attend the academy that matches their teaching assignment.

Q: What about coaches?
A: Coaches may attend more than one academy, as they see a need for their school's professional development.

Q: What if I change my mind about my enrollment selection?
A: You can change your own enrollment on the website, using your own Log In and password.

Q: How do I show my school district that I attended this professional development?
A: A certificate is issued once you have attended the academy at 100% attendance and participation. Certificates are not issued for partial attendance.

| Inclement Weather Policy
In the event of inclement weather, the site director will notify participants by email, a day ahead of the scheduled academy or workshop date. Within two weeks' time, participants will receive notification of the rescheduled date and/or cancellation. Inclement weather announcements will also be posted on the front page of the website and on the event page inside the authenticated site.
